The peeling

Peeling is derived from the English word to peel, which means to peel off. We work on the top layer of our skin, called the stratum corneum. There we will quickly and effectively remove the cells and also the impurities that are attached to them. The peel will provide us with a more active cell division. This leads to a faster upward shift of the cells of the epidermis. Cosmetic products which are used after a peel will be better absorbed by the skin and the client’s skin will have better blood circulation.

What kind of peelings are there? 

We differentiate between mechanical peels, enzyme peels and chemical peels. Chemical peels will not be discussed today. Mechanical peels include granular peels and gommages.

Granular peeling

This is a peeling with small granules that peels off the dead skin cells. It comes in gel and cream forms, and the granules usually consist of chalk, marble, powdered silica, crushed apricot kernels, and pumice or gold. A granular peel is best applied once or twice a week and is suitable for all skin types, except for very sensitive or acne-prone skin.

The gommage

We apply the product and let it dry slightly. We then remove the product using a rolling or rubbing technique. In this way we will rub or unroll the dead skin cells. These peels come in gel, cream, paste or powder form and the used substances are usually beeswax or Xanthan gum.

The enzyme peeling

It has a keratolytic effect. It causes the dead skin cells to be loosened. We apply this product similarly to applying a mask, and let it soak in. Then, we wipe it off with a compress or a sponge. The exposure time is specified by the company itself and must be observed. Sometimes the product has to be kept moist during the exposure time. Afterwards, we use a compress or a vapozone. This peel is more gentle than the mechanical peel and is therefore suitable for sensitive skin and acne-prone skin. It comes in cream or powder form.

Babor’s soft peel products

The gentle peel is a mild mechanical facial peel with smaller granules. It is suitable for all skin types, except sensitive or blemished ones. The corneocytes are removed. It is an ideal product to use before applying a self-tanning product. Therefore it’s a good idea to peel your face before applying self-tanner. You’ll get noticeably smoother skin and an even, refined and radiantly beautiful complexion. Suitable for application once or twice a week.

Peeling is afgeleid van het Engelse woord to peel, wat afpellen betekent. We werken op de bovenste laag van onze huid, de hoornlaag genoemd. Daar gaan we de cellen snel en effectief verwijderen en ook de onzuiverheden die eraan vastzitten. Door de peeling zullen we een actievere celdeling krijgen. Dit betekent een snellere opwaartse verschuiving van de cellen van de opperhuid. De cosmetische producten die na een peeling worden gebruikt, worden beter geabsorbeerd en we hebben een betere doorbloeding van de huid. 

Welke soorten peeling zijn er?

We hebben mechanische peelings, biologische peelings en chemische peelings. De chemische peelings zullen vandaag niet worden besproken. Mechanische peelings omvatten korrelige peelings en gommages. 

Graan peeling 

Dit is een peeling met een kleine korrel die de dode huidcellen afpelt. Het bestaat in gel- en crèmevorm en de korrels zijn meestal gemaakt van krijt, marmer, silica in poedervorm, geplette abrikozenpitten en puimsteen of goud. Een korrelpeeling kan het beste een- of tweemaal per week worden toegepast en is geschikt voor alle huidtypen, behalve voor de zeer gevoelige of acnehuid. 

De gommage

Wij brengen het product aan en laten het lichtjes drogen. Daarna verwijderen we het product door middel van een rol- of wrijftechniek. Op die manier gaan we de cellen van de huid wrijven of ontrollen. Dit bestaat in gel-, crème-, pasta- of poedervorm en de gebruikte stoffen zijn meestal bijenwas of Xanthaangom.

De biologische peeling

Heeft een hoorn-splijtende werking. Dus de dode huidcellen worden losgemaakt. We brengen dit product aan als een masker en laten het intrekken. Daarna nemen we het af met een kompres of een spons. De inwerktijd wordt door de firma zelf aangegeven en moet in acht worden genomen. Soms moet het product vochtig worden gehouden tijdens de inwerktijd. Daarna gebruiken we een kompres of een vapozone. Deze peeling is zachter dan de mechanische peeling en is dus geschikt voor de gevoelige huid en de acnehuid. Ze bestaat in crème- of poedervorm.

De zachte peeling producten van Babor.

De zachte peeling is een milde mechanische gezichtspeeling met een kleinere korrel.  Het is geschikt voor alle huidtypes, behalve gevoelige of onzuivere huid. De dode hoorncellen worden verwijderd. Ideaal product om te gebruiken voordat u een zelfbruinend product aanbrengt. Dus als u zelfbruiner gaat aanbrengen, peel dan eerst uw gezicht. U krijgt een merkbaar gladdere huid. En een egale, verfijnde en stralend mooie teint. Geschikt om één of twee keer per week aan te brengen.
